Meet our first riders

A month ago we invited the public to nominate people to ride our first wave. This morning the 35 successful successful nominees will surf that wave, becoming the first surfers on the first inland surfing destination of its kind in the world.

Our first waves are in testing

We have a full lake of water and we have been testing waves.  It was a very big moment for the team as the first surfing waves rolled down the lake and the dream became a reality.

The big fill starts as water turned on in The Wave Bristol

Build update - our waves, lake and technology

On an ordinary day, when we open, we’ll have three different waves rolling at any one time. The sets are every 10 seconds and range from gentler waves for beginners to larger waves for expert surfers. A ten second power on ride is a long wave for the vast majority of people here in the UK.

The Wave puts down roots with founding copse of trees

Symbolic trees planted on site marking the first of over 7,500 that will be planted on the site this year alone.
