“It was the glacial perspective that we had been dreaming about. Somewhere between the harsh reality of our slow moving expedition & a lucid dream, we walked our small packrafts with bikes & gear attached through shallow streams into the deep, fast moving Þjórsá river.”

Film Screening in The View
Saturday 23rd November
Join us in The View for a special evening as we host a screening of Chris Burkard’s The Forgotten Coast.
Inspired by over a decade of documenting Iceland’s glacial river systems and their intersection with the ocean from the seats of small aircraft, renowned photographer Chris Burkard sets out for an immersive expedition across 41 of these rivers – by connecting a 400km series of exposed sandbars that provide a barrier between the harsh waters of the north atlantic along Iceland’s southern coast, armed only with a fat bike & inflatable raft and accompanied by two seasoned bike-pack/rafting veterans, Steve “Doom” Fassbinder and Cameron Lawson.
There will be a special presentation about the expedition and Q&A with Chris after the screening.
