As the Marketing assistant you will work closely with the Head of Marketing and Sales to ensure The Wave brand experience is highly visible and delivered effectively across all owned, earned and paid-for channels. You’ll work to coordinate and support the delivery of all our marketing activity and work closely with partners across the business and externally.


  • Overseeing the development of content across all our channels to support our marketing campaigns, drive brand awareness and generate bookings.
  • Working closely and briefing a team of suppliers including our data people, writers, designers, photographers, sales people, partners, sponsors, affiliates and external influencers
  • Supporting with the creation of in-house content including printed materials, blogs, social media, website landing pages, video, podcasts and newsletters.
  • Working closely with external agencies including website developers and media planning agency.
  • Developing tactics to grow the subscriber base and develop the customer journeys for all our marketing communications.
  • Keeping up-to-date with what’s happening in the leisure industry including attending events, identifying trends & briefing on industry standards to the wider team.
  • Managing and protecting The Waves® brand guidelines and, helping to develop and instil policies and procedures across the organisation.
  • Assisting the customer service team by developing a knowledge-base of scripts, canned answers and social media responses.
  • Overseeing the development and running of our KPI tracking reports to ensure marketing activity is performing.
  • Further responsibilities and activities including awards submissions, event support, market research and the management of marketing collateral.

Skills and attributes required:

  • At least 2-3 years’ experience in a similar role, overseeing and understanding the production of cross-channel marketing content.
  • An ability to work under pressure and prioritise, with a drive and determination to achieve the best – a can-do attitude.
  • Great people skills, with an ability to create and develop meaningful relationships.
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, with an ability to spot trends and errors.
  • A passion for sustainability, health and wellbeing and the natural world.
  • A proactive and ambitious mindset, with a desire to ‘muck-in’!

The finer details:

  • Basic Salary of £25,000 per annum
  • 30 days holiday (inclusive of Bank Holidays)
  • Full-time position, starting April/May 19
  • Working initially from our Bristol Office on the Harbourside and then at our Bristol site in Easter Compton
