The Landlocked Champion Competition - Terms and Conditions

These terms and conditions explain the rules for participating in our Flowstate Competition. Please read these carefully before entering the competition.
Promotion Terms
Promotor: Surf Bristol Ltd, company number 10586504, with registered office One Glass Wharf, Bristol, United Kingdom BS2 0ZX (“The Wave”) (“Promotor”)
Partner: Flowstate Zone Pty Ltd (ACN 661 265 989) (“Flowstate”) (“Partner”)
Promotion title: The Landlocked Champion Competition (“Promotion”)
Promotion period: 24th June 2025 to 24th July 2025 (the “Promotion Period”).
Winner & communication: One winner will be selected within three working days of the end of the Promotion Period and will be contacted by The Promotor via direct message on Flowstate.
Prize: The winner will be awarded the following items:
- Overnight stay in The Wave’s Camp
- 4 free surf sessions or lessons
- 4 free Flowstate video and photo package
- £50 voucher to spend in the Clubhouse Café
How to Enter: For a chance to win the prize, the entrant shall:
- Submit their chosen wave(s) to The Wave’s Flowstate competition. This is hosted directly on the Flowstate website.
- 1. The Flowstate Competition is open to all UK residents except employees or agents of The Wave or any Group Company, or any third party associated with the judging of the competition.
- 2. The Flowstate Competition is free to enter, and you are not required to make any additional purchase, however only video taken via Flowstate will constitute an eligible entry.
- 3. To enter, you must submit your Flowstate footage directly on the Flowtstate website, by selecting ‘submit to competiton.’ You may submit multiple videos to the Promotion.
- 4. Submissions must meet the requirements of the Promotion to be eligible including format, deadline and any other rules.
- 5. By submitting a video, you confirm that the content is your own original work and does not violate the rights of any third party. If other individuals (such as friends, family members, bystanders, or children) appear in your video, please ensure you have their permission to include their image. Mail-in entries will not be accepted, and any entries submitted using automated tools or programs will be disqualified.
- 6. The opening date for entries is 6:00am (GMT) on 24th June 2025.
- 7. The closing date for entries is 11.59pm (GMT) on 24th July 2025 (the “Closing Date”). Entries received after the Closing Date will not be accepted.
- 8. The Wave accepts no responsibility for entries that are lost or delayed for any reason or for entries not successfully submitted due to any kind of technical fault.
- 9. The Wave’s panel of experienced and skilled judges, comprising team members employed by The Wave, will select the winner based on specific criteria set for the Promotion, with a strong focus on ‘stand out surf.’ Judging will be inclusive of all skill levels, from Improver sessions through to Expert sessions. The outcome will be based purely on the judges’ expertise, with no element of chance influencing the final decision.
- 10. Within one week of the Promotion closing on 24th July 2025, the judges will select the top three surfs to feature on The Wave’s social media channels. From these finalists, one overall winner will be chosen and announced by 1st August 2025. The winner will be notified by direct message with instructions on how to collect their prize. If a winner does not respond within 14 days of notification, then the winner’s prize will be forfeited and The Wave will be entitled to select another winner in line with the process described above. The prize must be redeemed by the 31st of October 2025. Failure to do so will result in the prize no longer being valid.
- 11. Please note that judges are not obligated to provide individual feedback on entries. The Wave reserves the right to disqualify any submission deemed inappropriate, unlawful, or in violation of the competition rules.
- 12. All submitted videos will be reviewed by The Wave. By entering the Promotion, you give your consent for The Wave and Flowstate to use your video and imagery for both commercial and non-commercial purposes. This includes crediting you as the creator of the content. If you are selected as the winner, The Wave and Flowstate may use your name and video to announce the result and for promotional purposes.
- 13. By submitting your entry, you grant The Wave and Flowstate a royalty-free license, with the right to sublicense, to use the content you submit for the purposes of the competition and related marketing materials.
- 14. In the unlikely event that the prize (or any one or more of its constituent elements) is unavailable, The Wave reserves the right to provide a similar prize of equal or greater value.
- 15. The prize is non-exchangeable, non-transferable and no cash alternative is or will be offered.
- 16. Any decision of The Wave regarding any aspect of the prize draw will be final and binding. No correspondence or discussion will be entered into about it.
- 17. The winner and their family may be asked to participate in publicity.
- 18. Personal data supplied in the course of entering the competition will only be processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy and as explicitly stated in these terms and conditions.
- 19. By entering the competition, all participants agree to be bound by and comply with these terms and conditions. The Wave reserves the right to refuse entry or to refuse to award the prize to anyone in breach of any of the terms and conditions referred to above.
