On an ordinary day, when we open, we’ll have three different types of waves rolling at any one time. We will be able to generate waves every 10 seconds, that range in size and shape, from gentler waves for beginners to larger waves for expert surfers.
Our surf lake
With a 200m surfing lake (5 times bigger than the Wavegarden Cove test facility in Spain) we will be able to deliver an unrivalled and uncrowded inland surf experience suitable for everyone, from beginner to seasoned professional.
Our Wavegarden Cove technology is groundbreaking and can generate up to 1,000 quality waves per hour, ranging from 50cm (1.7ft) to almost 2m (6.5ft) in height.
Our waves
On our day-to-day setting we will be able to push a new wave every 10 seconds. This wave will take on a different size and shape as it breaks across our three zones, to ensure that we have a mix of waves to suit a range of abilities, from beginners to expert surfers.
An average ride in our advanced area is around 13 seconds long and 80m in length. The wave re-forms to create waves for intermediate and beginner surfers, and they can expect lightly longer rides with gentler character waves. It's worth saying that even a 10-second ride feels like a long time when you're on it!
Importantly, the whole surfing experience has been designed to ensure there are no problems with overcrowding, noisy mechanics or hanging around for a wave. Surfing one hour at The Wave is equivalent to eight hours in the sea.

We’ve designed every aspect to ensure it is fun for all, whatever your ability. At The Wave no-one is judged – except on competition days!
We are able to offer safe consistent waves that make learning to surf easy and lots of fun. Irrespective of age, fitness, learning or physical ability, we’ll help you to get the most out of your surfing and your time at The Wave.
Our surf lessons are available for all levels and are delivered by our experienced team of coaches who are down-to-earth, friendly and supportive. Once you’re in the water, we’ll be with you all the way as you catch your first waves.
Everything you need to get started
All our prices include hire of a surfboard, wetsuit and wetsuit boots so all you'll need to do is bring your swimming costume and a towel. It makes cycling and public transport an easy option.
