Our demo days hosted with our friends at Firewire and Boardshop are a chance for you to try something new FOR FREE. That’s right, free board hire and lots of boards to try!
All you need to do is book on to the selected sessions on our demo days, talk to the guys over in the boardroom, pick a board and give it a go!

What equipment does The Wave include in the price of a surf session or lesson?
Surfboard (softboards), wetsuits, boots, hats and gloves are all included in the price of your surf, which makes it especially easy for beginners trying surfing for the first time.
It’s important to feel comfortable in your wetsuit. We have many sizes to fit people of all ages, sizes, and body shapes. We have adaptive wetsuits available, as well as full-coverage Seasuits and water Hijabs. Talk to a Wavemaker at the Surf Desk to find out more about these.

Our boardroom has a great selection of boards available from £12 for foamies and £17 for performance hard boards and our Wavemakers are on hand to help you pick the best one for you.

What equipment can I bring?
The Reef (all non beginner lessons and sessions)
In reef sessions we allow:
- Surfboards (all lengths)
- Bodyboards
- Adapted surfboards for those with disabilities
What do I need to bring?
You need to bring a swimming costume to wear underneath your wetsuit and a towel to get dry after your surf. We have everything you need for your session. However, if you have your own wetsuit and surfing gear for cold weather, it’s a good idea to bring them along. Don’t forget your waterproof sun cream too especially during the summer months.
What equipment can I not bring?
We cannot allow paddle sports like stand-up paddle boarding and surf kayaking in any part of the lake
