We want everyone to have the best possible time when they surf with us and a key part of that is making sure you are on the right wave for your level of experience and ability. Use the information below to see which wave is right for you and what you’ll need to do to be reaching the next wave.

Beginner Waves
Experience Required:
No experience required! We recommend starting on a Beginner Surf Lesson first before trying by yourself without a coach in a Beginner Surf Session. You must be aged 6+ and be able to swim 25m.
Sessions available:
Ready to progress?
- Stand up on 80% of surfing waves
- Catch 80% of bodyboarding waves
- End rides and wipeout safely
- Confident to catch waves out of your depth
- Ready to paddle your board into position
Suggested Wave Time
1-5 sessions, including 1-2 with lesson.
Waikiki Waves
Experience Required:
- Competent riding whitewater waves
- Comfortable out of depth
Sessions Available:
Ready to Progress?
- Paddle into 80% of surfing waves
- Stand up on 80% of surfing waves
- Travel across the wave face
- End rides and wipeout safely
Suggested Wave Time:
3-10 sessions including 2 with lesson
Intermediate Waves
Experience Required:
- Comfortable paddling out back
- Catch 1-3ft waves
Sessions Available:
Ready to Progress?
- Navigate an angeled take off
- Confident pop up manoeuvre
- Turn left and right
- End rides and wipeout safely
Suggested Wave Time:
3-10 sessions, including 2 with lesson
Advanced Waves
Experience Required:
- Comfortable paddling in bigger swells
- Catch 2-4ft waves
Sessions Available:
Ready to Progress?
- Prepare for steeper, faster take offs
- Navigate changing wave sections
- Perform linked turns and manoeuvres
- Confident in rips/currents
Suggested Wave Time
Once competent.
Expert Waves
Experience Required:
- Comfortable padding in powerful swells
- Catch 4ft waves
Sessions Available:
What to try next:
- Use your expertise to experience different waves and sessions
- Trial a new board from the boardroom
- Test yourself on your backhand side
